Xeomin is mainly used to treat severe muscle spasms in the neck and eyelids, as well as being an effective solution for the treatment of upper limb spasticity in adults. It can also be used for aesthetic purposes such as wrinkle reduction and deep frown lines.
How is Treatment Performed?
Xeomin treatment involves multiple injection sites around the face to target different muscles. From start to finish the procedure lasts approximately 20 minutes. Patients experience little to no discomfort.
Are There Side Effects?
The most common side effects from having Xeomin injections include minor swelling and bruising around the injection sites. In more serious cases brow or eyelid ptosis can occur, where your brow or eyelid becomes droopy as a result of the product drifting too far up or down the eye area.
To avoid unpleasant side effects like ptosis, patients should always seek treatment with an experienced practitioner to minimize risk.
When Will Results be Visible?
You will likely notice smoother skin with fewer wrinkles within 2 to 3 days post treatment. However, the full effects are not likely to be visible for approximately 2 weeks. It can take up to a month for results to be visible in areas with stronger muscles, particularly in male patients.
To prolong benefits of Xeomin and to ensure optimal results, it is advisable to repeat your treatment every 4-6 months. Over time, as your muscles weaken, you will be able to enjoy the results of Xeomin for a longer amount of time with fewer treatments required.
